I write this as we approach the close of this turbulent year, and with the new Covid variant approaching rapidly, we focus on our families and loved ones and what is more important in life than work.
Reflecting on the achievements of 2021, I can safely say it has been a rollercoaster year at ETHOS as we have continued to build our team and foster a creative, problem-solving space for colleagues to grow and develop. We have seen substantial business growth and expansion into new areas, building on the firm foundations of best safety practice and high quality, collaborative work, so engrained across the company. We are driven by safety improvement work and have patient safety at the heart of the business. Our team are committed to this, most having worked across the health and care sector for many years.
When you look at where ETHOS was two years ago, and where we are now, this growth has enabled us an SME to introduce scalable business solutions and partnerships, significantly enabled by Michelle who joined us at the start of the year 2021. We are now moving into the next phase of growth in the new year with a pipeline of work, business insights and capability we will need to maintain our momentum in 2022, including our UK subsidiary, ETHOS Digital Health Ltd.
So, what is happening next year? Things we have lined up so far:
Places: We have new office space and more planned to house our expanding services and have expanded our work to the USA and deeper into Europe.
People: We are expanding our permanent staff base, both relating to safety work for our clients and back-office support to manage our significant workload. Watch this space for more roles as we drive our team development plans forward.
Progress: ETHOS is committed to helping our clients not reinvent the wheel, by facilitating knowledge transfer and synthesis of quality management systems for all our clients, including, for example, SOPs, and workflows, checklists and our own playbooks/ guides. We believe this is essential for our NHS and Social Care clients where every resource is precious and oversubscribed. Our core mission is to collaborate, learn and share.
Plans: Finalising our business planning cycle has taken much of my time in recent weeks and will start to bear fruit in the spring. We are planning further personal development opportunities for the team, including my own, which is aimed at networking with other company founders to help establish new markets and assure operational rigour as we expand at pace. Get in touch if you would like to know more. Our research and innovation offer has provided us with a robust springboard of Innovate UK and other research grant funding streams this year and will continue to grow in 2022. The focus will be as lead/joint applicants, importantly providing the opportunity to influence the sector and innovative products to support at scale safety work.
As you can see, we have plans, and we know our sector well enough not to settle for the basics but hold close to our values. I wanted to thank you for all your hard work, for your collegiate partnering with the ETHOS team in 2021 and wish you all the very best of health and happiness in the coming year.
